If its so cheap, why aren’t more people doing it?

The federal/seized/surplus/repo auctions, whatever they are….why aren’t more people just spending money on these cars when they are super cheap?

They say you can walk away with a car for dirt cheap….so why doesn’t everyone hop on it an do it?

Cons and Pros of this?

People don’t want to deal with the junk they literally sell. When you buy from them, it’s always buyer beware. I will never buy a used car as long as I walk this planet. I’ve been corn holed one time too many. Ya it’s cheap, but so is the quality. Unless you know how to take a car apart, then you can get a decent car for cheap. But, I am no mechanic. I have no choice but to buy new to ensure I get a reliable car.

I can only go to repo’s as the others I have not been involved with.
Repo cars are repo’d for a reason, The people couldn’t afford them. Since they have no money what kind of maintenance did the car get? Little to none in most cases. The car stopped running and there is no money to fix it — let the repo man come get it.
Usually these cars have been driven hard and have a lot more wear on them than a car that was well maintained. Once in a while you can find a jewel at the repo auction but you have to know what to look for.
You may end up spending as much as you paid for the car to get it road worthy as you paid for it.

Maybe I can shed a little light on this matter for you. Just so happens I have the opertunity to work on some of these so called killer deals. The cars they show you on T V are one in a million, the cream of the crop. I would have to say that at auction those cars go for alot, but most of the cars that go through these auction houses are real pieces of – - – - . The little mom and pop car lots buy these up for dirt cheap and put as little into as possible to make a profit, thats why you see the BUY AS IS and NO WARRANTY stickers on them, not to mentions all the back fee’s and late registration fee’s wich could get quite costly. It’s really alot of hassle that most ppl dont want to go through. So if you gonna buy a used car from lets say JOE’S FRIENDLY USED CAR LOT, just beware of what your getting and getting into. Alot of the ppl who owned these drove em like they stole em. So to answer your ? is ppl really want somthing for nothing, or with as little effort as possible.
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU

it’s a crap shoot

your buying a near mystery

unless you can look at a car and tell if it needs major repairs or just a new coat of paint

your playing with fire.

only for pro’s that have the time and money to fix and sell whatever they buy.

avoid them at all cost.
