Back in December 07, I was 2 count them 2 payments behind on my car. The bank it was financed with (hint:jpc) called about it but never tried to do anything else. Then my friend who worked at a dealership was going to take my car as a trade in and put me in a new one (yay!). As soon as my bank got the call for the payoff, they lied to him saying that they did not have my record on file and my car within 3 weeks was repo’d. I had made a payment a week before that happened to keep it under the usual 90 day repo policy. Then a few weeks later i received a letter about an intention to sell. That was the last i had heard about it. Last weekend i was served papers stating that they are suing me for the car which i no longer have. And the amount owed doesnt seem like a balance left over from a car sale/auction (it was a fully loaded 2002 model vehicle, i got it for 12,500 and it was worth about 7k).If they had let me trade it in the first place this couldve been avoided. HELP
Add’l: when i had called the bank to get the payoff myself, they told me that they had reported the car stolen and there is a warrant on the car so if the dealership ran it thats what would show up. The whole thing seemed unfair and fishy to me.
add’l to first huzzie’s reply, that bank doesnt like to work with people, they live to threaten.

This is exactly why you pay your bills on time and if you can’t pay them you call the bank immediately and try to work out a plan with them. BEFORE you are late.
Good luck getting this straightened out. I would get a lawyer ASAP.
Response: I can see why the bank wouldn’t work with you with your attitude. Calling me a “huzzie” is really appropriate. Karma, my dear. You get what you deserve. Grow up.
